    • DAY 1

    Jaffna


    Upon arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), you will be met and escorted by our HTCey Leisure Tour Guides to your vehicle of choice to whisk you away to the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) Base in Colombo. There you will join a group of fellow travellers in exploring the Northern most part of Sri Lanka. The views from aboard the SLAF helicopter will take your breath away as you fly over the beautifully landscaped Island of plush green surrounded by emerald blue water.

    Jaffna is the capital city of the Northern Province. Once the second most populated city in Sri Lanka, it is undergoing a reconstruction phase with development taking place at a rapid pace. After you have checked in to your hotel in Jaffna, you will have the opportunity to drive around the city and peek in to the Jaffna Library, or take a stroll around the Jaffna Fort. Locally produced wines and Nelli juice that are a favourite amongst the locals are available for sale in some shops and might be worth a taste. If you are up for some spicy food, you could taste the typical Jaffna or South Indian flare that is served in many restaurants.

    • DAY 2

    Jaffna


    After a hearty local traditional meal for breakfast, you will proceed to the Nainativu Island to visit Nagadeepa which is a 20 minute ferry ride from the mainland. Nagadeepa is believed to be one of the 16 locations the Lord Buddha has visited and is considered by the Buddhists as a sacred place of worship.

    Kayts, the largest island in the cluster of Islands in the Jaffna Peninsula is also accessible by boat and is worth a visit if time permits. The Keeramalai bathing pond which is considered to have healing/soothing powers is a popular tourist attraction. Down the same stretch of road is Dambakola Patuna where according to ancient chronicles, Ven. Sangamitta landed carrying the first Bo Tree sampling to Sri Lanka. You will return to the hotel in time to enjoy a traditional dinner and prepare for another day of sight seeing in Jaffna.

    • DAY 3

    Jaffna


    After a second night in Jaffna, you will visit Nallur early in the morning to witness offerings at Kandasamy Kovil/ Murugan Kovil by the devotees of the Hindu faith. You could hop in to the near by Rio Ice Cream parlor, a favourite hang out spot to try some of the local ice cream flavours. Thereafter you will make a trip up north to Point Pedro, the northern most town of Sri Lanka. Time permitting; you will also visit Kadurugoda a site with a collection of many small stupas.

    • DAY 4

    Trincomalee


    After an early breakfast in Jaffna, you will be driven to Trincomalee also known as Trinco. Trinco is one of the few deep water natural harbours in the world which was used extensively during World War II.

    You will enjoy Trinco's famous white sandy beaches in Nilavelli and snorkel off of Pigeon Island which is a short boat ride away from the shore. Trinco is fast becoming a hot spot for whale and Dolphin watching as well as Diving due to many ship wrecks and rock formations. If these activities are of interest to you, our guides will be at your service to make arrangements for your benefit. You may also opt instead to visit the seven hot springs of Kinniya which is a short distance away from the town limits.

    • DAY 5

    Colombo


    After breakfast, check out of the hotel and leave for the Trinco Air Force Base to catch a domestic flight back to Colombo.

    While in Colombo, the commercial capital of the country, you may indulge in a half day City Tour visiting the Old Parliament, Colombo Fort, Colombo's ancient trade port in Pettah, Independence Square, Gangarama Temple, BMICH, etc and/or you can also enjoy a rewarding Colombo Shopping Tour – ask your tour guide for where the bargains are!

    After you have checked in to a hotel of your choice, you could either enjoy the sounds of the Indian Ocean pounding against the walls of the Galle Face Green or take an evening stroll along the Beira Lake enjoying the peaceful and serene atmosphere. You could also checkout the Colombo night life as many bars and night clubs are open until wee hours of the morning.

    (Approximately a 40 minute journey by air and a 30 minute journey from the Rathmalana airport to Colombo)

    • DAY 6

    Departure


    Prepare for your return journey to BIA. You are expected to be at the airport at least 3 hours prior to your departure time. Have a safe journey back home and we hope to see you soon.
