The park consists of over 30,000 hectares of wild nature reserve bordering the dry zone. The main attraction of the park is its wild Elephants and migratory birds. Upon completing the Safari in Uda Walawe, you will travel a short distance to Bundala National Park for yet another thrilling Safari adventure.
Bundala is a 6,216 hectare scenic National Park that borders a coastal lagoon and is less commercialized than many of the other national parks in Sri Lanka. The park is better known for birds and the most prominent visitor to the park is the beautiful flamingo that adds a striking color to the scenery. Bundala is the only National Park in Sri Lanka that is home to the estuarine and the fresh water crocodiles - the two species of crocodiles endemic to the country. The best time to visit the park is from May through to September. At dusk, you will proceed to your next destination – Yala – for your overnight stay.
